Barnes Group Corporate Officers

Patrick J. Dempsey

Mr. Dempsey has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company since March 1, 2013. He joined the Company in 2000 as President, Barnes Aerospace, Windsor Airmotive. He was appointed Vice President, Operations, Barnes Aerospace in 2003; President, Barnes Aerospace in 2004; President, Barnes Distribution in 2007; and Vice President, Barnes Group Inc. and President, Logistics and Manufacturing Services in 2008. He was named Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in 2012. Prior to joining Barnes Group Inc., Mr. Dempsey held leadership positions at United Technologies’ Pratt and Whitney Division and the Interturbine Group of Companies.

Mr. Dempsey holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Engineering Technology and Education from the University of Limerick, Ireland. He also holds various business management and leadership certifications from Harvard Business School, Case Western University, Columbia University, Texas Christian University and Southern Methodist University.

Christopher J. Stephens

Christopher J. Stephens, Jr. was appointed Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer, Barnes Group Inc. in January 2009.

Prior to joining Barnes Group, he had more than 20 years of experience with Fortune 500 companies, including Honeywell, The Boeing Company, Allied Signal, and Ingersoll-Rand. Most recently, he served as President, Honeywell Consumer Products Group (CPG), an automotive products business with leading brands such as Prestone, FRAM, and Autolite. Prior to CPG, Mr. Stephens was the Chief Financial Officer of Honeywell's Transportation Systems business. He also held senior leadership roles at Boeing Company and Allied Signal. He started his career at Ingersoll-Rand as a member of the Financial Management Training Program and held finance positions with increasing responsibility over the next 10 years.

Mr. Stephens received a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. in Corporate Finance from Virginia Tech's Pamplin School of Business. He is a Certified Public Accountant, and a member of the Advisory Council at Fairfield University's Dolan School of Business.

Claudia S. Toussaint

Claudia Toussaint rejoined the Company in June 2012 as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. Ms. Toussaint previously served in this role from April 2010 to March 2012. From March 2012 to June 2012, Ms. Toussaint briefly joined Tyco Flow Control.

Ms. Toussaint has over 20 years of diverse legal experience. Before joining Barnes Group, Ms. Toussaint last served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Embarq Corporation, a telecommunications company. Prior to Embarq, Ms. Toussaint served as Vice President, Corporate Governance and Ethics, and Corporate Secretary for Sprint Corporation, a role she assumed after serving in various legal roles for Sprint and its operating subsidiaries. Before joining Sprint in 1997, Ms. Toussaint was an attorney with Morrison & Foerster LLP.

Ms. Toussaint holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of California in Los Angeles and a Juris Doctorate from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

Dawn N. Edwards

Dawn N. Edwards serves as Senior Vice President, Human Resources for Barnes Group Inc.

Joining Barnes Group in 1998, Ms. Edwards was most recently Vice President of Human Resources - Global Operations. Prior to this, she held positions of increasing responsibility with Barnes Aerospace and the former Barnes Industrial. Before joining Barnes Group, Ms. Edwards held a number of Human Resource positions at United Technologies Corporation Hamilton Standard division.

She has a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the University of Connecticut and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Connecticut School of Law.

Rick Barnhart

Rick Barnhart was appointed Senior Vice President, Barnes Group Inc. and President, Barnes Aerospace in August 2013. Joining Barnes Group in 2005, Mr. Barnhart was most recently Vice President, Aerospace and President, Barnes Aerospace. Prior to this, he held positions of increasing responsibility with Barnes Aerospace, including Vice President and General Manager, Windsor Airmotive; Vice President and General Manager, Manufacturing; and President, Barnes Distribution Europe. Mr. Barnhart came to Barnes Group with more than 20 years of executive experience, holding positions such as President, Aerostructures Division of Kaman Corporation; Vice President, Americas, Eastern Region, and Vice President, General Manager, Memphis, Solectron Global Services. Prior to Solectron, he was with United Technologies’ Pratt & Whitney division and PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Senior Manager in management consulting.

Mr. Barnhart holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont. He also earned an M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut.

Marian Acker

Marian Acker serves as Vice President, Controller for Barnes Group. She previously served as Vice President and Corporate Controller for Barnes Group. Joining the Company in 1993, she has held positions of increasing responsibility with the Company, including Group Controller, Barnes Aerospace, and Assistant Corporate Controller. Prior to that, Ms. Acker was with PricewaterhouseCoopers as Audit Manager.

A Certified Public Accountant, she earned her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Vermont and a Master's degree in Finance from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Hartford, Connecticut.

Gregory A. Marshall

Greg Marshall joined Barnes Group Inc. in 2010 as Assistant Vice President, Tax. Prior to joining the Company, he served as Senior Tax Executive for United Technologies Aerospace and Defense sectors where he had worldwide tax responsibility for Pratt & Whitney, Hamilton Sundstrand, and Sikorsky Helicopter Divisions, leading a team of 23 tax professionals. From 1993 to 2004, Mr. Marshall served as Senior Tax Manager for Ernst & Young LLP. Prior to his public accounting career, he served as a Financial Reporting and Cost Accountant for P&C Quality Turned Components, Inc., a Smithfield, RI industrial products firm. 

Mr. Marshall holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Tax from Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Kenneth R. Hopson

Kenneth R. Hopson joined Barnes Group Inc. in 2012 as Vice President, Treasurer. Prior to joining Barnes Group, Mr. Hopson served as Senior Vice President and Global Treasurer for Parsons Brinckerhoff, Inc. in New York where he was responsible for providing day to day financial and operating CFO leadership for planning, management, and control of the global finance function. From 1999 to 2008, Mr. Hopson served as Vice President and Corporate Treasurer of UST, Inc. in Greenwich/Stamford, CT, in charge of corporate strategy, credit and collection management, pension management, and insurance risk. From 1997 to 1999, he held the position of Vice President Treasurer, Americas and Asia Pacific for BTR, Inc.

Mr. Hopson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management & Accounting from Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, PA. Additionally, he is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder.

Lukas Hovorka

Lukas Hovorka serves as Vice President, Corporate Development for Barnes Group Inc. Mr. Hovorka joined Barnes Group in 2008 as Director, Corporate Development. Prior to joining Barnes Group, he was with ITOCHU International Inc. where he held the position of Director/Vice President, Corporate Development. From 2001 to 2002, Mr. Hovorka had the role of Senior Associate, Mergers & Acquisitions with Robertson Stephens, and he was with Goldman Sachs from 1996 to 1999.

Mr. Hovorka holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration in Finance from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
